FrontForce - Integrated Emergency Support

Zone-based, flexible and modular

Increasing performance requirements and the reformed zone structure put pressure on each fire brigade to evolve. Ferranti FrontForce® offers an integrated, future-proof solution for fire brigades. The system consists of modules that seamlessly work together and can be flexibly added or removed according to the evolving needs of the organization. FrontForce® offers advanced communication with other brigades and can be used both by individual fire departments or complete zones.

The solution is built on the industry-standard Intergraph® dispatching platform. FrontForce® consists of seven modules. Together they offer a complete solution for every fire department.

Capacity Management

Capacity Management permanently monitors the presence and availability of people and material to ensure optimal turn outs. By using pagers and SMS for the firemen and wireless GPS modules (MDT, AVL) for the material, the capacity can be tracked and adjusted in real-time.

Field Information

The module for Field Information contains maps of the complete area, together with information about accessibility (blockades, traffic,…), available infrastructure (hydrants,…) and up-to-date information from companies. The information can be simultaneously accessed and edited by multiple people, from multiple stations or companies.

When an intervention is called for, the Delivery modules start working instantaneously.

Dispatching and Alerting

Dispatching and Alerting ensures the automatic execution of all procedures for alarming the men and sending them to the right vehicle. Meanwhile, detailed intervention data is sent to the alarmed stations, so they will have the right information.

Communication and Crisis Management

The module for Communication and Crisis Management takes care of synchronization between different teams and between different organizations within the zone. All information is displayed in a graphical, well-organized way, so all parties involved immediately understand the situation.

Mobile Information

The teams turning out receive an optimal route to the destination through GIS and get real-time situation updates about the incident. A positioning system provides the headquarters with a location overview of all teams and material.

Reporting and Analysis

All information from the previous phases is stored for Reporting and Analysis. There are standard reports for fire interventions, ambulance interventions, other interventions (road clearing, wasp extermination, pump works,…) and exercises. This provides valuable statistics about the interventions, but also the possibility to derive lessons learned from individual interventions.

Information Distribution

Information screens and a portal provide channels to inform all stations about the latest news in the organization. These channels can also display regular company information, planning data and operational information.
